As a very conservative person by nature and a person of faith, I have an immediate bias against the far left and atheists, so sometimes I find myself turning a deaf ear to these folks, but I know that I short change myself by not at least trying to understand their argument, although snowballs will roll in hell before I would agree with them. Just seems like a common courtesy. As far as lefties go, Gabby in my opinion is OK. I am trying to figure out if he really feels the cited thread is offensive to him, or has he allowed his bias to get the best of him.

I think we should write an official letter to Sen Harry Reid. Because of his remarks about being glad Obama is only half negro and doesn't have a negro dialect, his presence here at ET would not be welcome, even though he is the highest elected legislative democrat in the United States.

I would like to thank gabfly for this wonderful opportunity to root out racists, wherever we see them.

The funny thing is i would be willing to admit that what index piker said could actually be one of the cases of someone on ET being a racist, however there is also a major possibility he was trying to get a rise out of one of the PC liberal people here on ET who cry racism, or try to label political opponents racists every single chance they get. I would say that looking at it from an unbiased point of view it is probably 50/50 seeing as how index piker has never said anything that i would find extremely racially offensive in the past. However since it is 50/50, and since i have never seen anything else racist coming from index piker, i have no reason to instantly believe he is a racist, and unlike the PC police on this board this is not an accusation i take lightly, or something i will accuse someone of just on a whim, in order to try to discredit them. Now since there have been multiple cases of Gabfly1 going around this board making false accusations that people are racist (including him accusing me of being a racist, even though all my colored friends, and past girlfriends dont seem to dont think so, and he is infact white)I am much more inclined to think that it is infact him who is wrong. I have weighed the evidence, and it comes back overwhelmingly against him. There is only so many times you can see someone cry racism until it loses its effect. I will agree with you though that there is still a strong possibility that what index piker said was out of line.

Well stated..........and as far as Index goes I have not found any previous statements / opinions that were even remotely "racist", and in fact I agree with most of his political opinions.

I enjoy the quick wit and dry humor of Gabby and Ricter, but on the same token I enjoy the in-your-face bluntness of Index and Doc Z.........so go figure.

In real life i am actually quite humble as i have been through alot in my life, i apologise if i come across as arrogant at times, but i get angry sometimes when people are unwilling to admit they are wrong even in the face of overwhelming evidence. I know that it is a bad quality of mine, and i am trying to work on it.

Thank you, and no need to apologise, i know the tirade i went off on in this thread was bad, and i am embarassed at having even posted all the garbage i did in this thread, however i often take things too personally, and Gabfly1 pushed just the right buttons with me when he falsely accused me of being a racist, even though i have never made a single comment which even a PC person would consider racist on this site.
