Poll: Ryan 3rd-most-disliked GOPer

Democrats are winning the messaging war on Rep. Paul Ryan’s bid to overhaul Medicare, with a new Bloomberg poll finding 57 percent of Americans believe they would be worse off under his plan.

Only 34 percent said they would be better off if Congress replaced “traditional Medicare” with a program to purchase private insurance with government subsidies, as Ryan has proposed.

The poll also found Ryan is now the nation’s third most disliked Republican, with net unfavorable ratings that trail only former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. But more than half surveyed said they have no opinion of the Wisconsin Republican.

Bloomberg did not publicly release crosstabs of their survey, so the partisan breakdown of its poll results is not known.

The poll found that 40 percent of Americans believe President Barack Obama has a better vision for the nation’s economic future, while 37 percent said Republicans do. More than half — 51 percent — said “we should see” how the national health care law works, while 35 percent want it repealed.

And 49 percent surveyed approve of Obama’s overall job performance, while his approval rating on terrorism alone was measured at 69 percent.
 
They asked the wrong question, not that it surprises me. I suppose the directive came out from the DNC that now that Weiner is off the front page, to get back to demagoguing Ryan and medicare.

The right question would have been, do you think you would be better off under the ryan plan or if medicare goes broke, which is what will happen under obama's non-plan. Then ask a followup if they are diappointed that obama has not proposed anything himself. Of course, that wouldn't have received the response they wanted.

Yes, the entitlement is mandatory but Congress has to appropriate the amount of spending you nitwit!!!!

All entitlements are mandatory. That is what the appropriations committee is for!
