POLL: How long have you been trading?

Before anyone gets mad at me, I tried doing a search for this question in the achives but couldn't find a related thread.

My question is how long have you been trading a live account (not papertrading)? This is from the first time you placed a trade and started learning about the markets. You could be part time or full time, I'm not concerned about that in this poll. Just wondering how long ago you got started.

I'll start off.

I started 6 years ago in equities in Oct 1997. During that time, I had 2 long term breaks that lasted around 5 mos each. I will put down 6 years for the poll.
