Stop-limit orders when used as protective stop-losses will rarely ever go unfilled, so long as the difference between the stop and limit price is very large. Set the difference to say 20 points in the ES and you will always get filled. EG. Sell 1 ES at 1027.50 stop 1007.50 limit. When done this way, the order will "act" like a plain stop but with the added protection of sitting on Globex.

Great idea. You win.

Do these applications (Ninja trader, Button trader, etc.) work with other trading platform such as Tradestation ?

If you are referring to automation then NT will work with several platforms (TradeStation included) by reading files created by those applications. I have not done it, only read through the documentation. However, there is quite a bit of coding to handle it, and after looking at it I am still not sure that I could completely translate the strategy from TS to order files in NT. There is example code on their website created by another user that might help you.

Hallo All.

We all know that WLD2.1 has been voted "Best Backtesting Software" here in the "EliteTrader forum. We have just released Wealth-Lab Developer 3.0 that now supports automated trading execution with IB. I do not know about the other add ons but I bellieve it is good to have all integrated in one product and after all you want to backtest first and autotrade then?

As you probably know, automated trading and Trade entries GUI's are not the same thing. This is the wrong place to introduce your new WLD version.

I had a problem with Bracket Trader. If I tried to change my stop price it would cancel my stop order and I would have to re-enter it manually. I couldn't figure out how to stop it from doing that so I quit using it.

I said something in an earlier post about Buttontrader being a little difficult but some recent posts made me look at it again and this time I took a few minutes to look at the tutorial, DUH!! This thing is really slick. I apologize for my comments.

WHat about Quotetracker? I like them.

Though you can enter orders through Quotetracker, it is not an order entery interface per se. This is the reason it's not an option here.

ButtonTrader by far beats the heck out of any of these - by miles! I used to use Futures-Trader last, which I consider the second best - but it's waaay behind ButtonTrader!

Just ran across this thread, but I wanted to chime in my 2 cents....I tried about 3 different platforms for ES trading and this is the SUPERLATIVE answer....

It has gotten me points that I would never have gotten using another platform....

I highly recommend it...in addition, it will make you a better trader b/c it teaches how to use market depth and volume pressure more effectively....
