Politifact Lie of the Year

lie of the year should have been, "This was a spontaneous riot incited by an anti Islamic film."

poor Susan Rice. I really liked her.

who threw her under the bus?

was it Hillary or Barack?

like you said, that was before the election

PHONY FACT-CHECK SITE POLITIFACT CAUGHT REWRITING ITS OWN HISTORY

n an October 2008 column -- just before the election -- PolitiFact actually rated Obama's promise as "true." It said at the time: "Obama is accurately describing his health care plan here. He advocates a program that seeks to build on the current system, rather than dismantling it and starting over."
In other words, it rated him on the basis of whether he was accurately stating his own campaign promise, a hurdle no politician could fail to clear.
In an August 2009 column, PolitiFact did pull back, noting: "It's not realistic for Obama to make blanket statements that 'you' will be able to 'keep your health care plan.'"
Since Obama was making just that blanket claim, it ought to have been rated "false," but PolitiFact decided against that. "[O]ne of the points of reform is to change the way health care works right now. So we rate Obama's statement Half True," it ruled. Rather than hold Obama to account, it moved the goalposts instead.
This wasn't the worst of it. As Higgins notes, PolitiFact not only rewrote the definition of "fact" to rate Obama's obvious lies as true, but twice during the 2012 election, the phony fact-check site accused of Mitt Romney of lying with his accurate claim that "up to 20 million Americans could lose their insurance under ObamaCare."
Romney's statement was based on analysis by the Congressional Budget Office.
One of those "false" ratings for Romney came in June of 2012, the same month PolitiFact awarded Obama a "half true" for repeating what PolitiFact now acknowledges was the "lie of the year."

Lie of the Year: 'If you like your health care plan, you can keep it'

I stopped at a gun store earlier to buy some targets for the weekend. While there, I was shocked to see a newer Toyota Tundra pulling in with a "I (heart symbol) Obama care." As the guy was getting out of his truck, I couldn't help myself but ask about it. I said "nice day huh?" The guy agreed. I said, "bye the way. I couldn't help notice your Obama care sticker. What is it about the new law that you like?" He said "It's going to finally help the poor get the coverage they deserve." We were walking towards the store at this point, and I said "I understand that. But in order to help out 10% of the population, this law is going to harm the other 90%. Is that fair?" He said, "It isn't hurting anyone." I didn't say anything else, and walked in the store with a sick feeling in my stomach.:(

I guess next time I see an adoring fan of Onazi care going down the road, I'll wish I had a laws rocket on the front of my car.

Agreed. I also wanted to run in there and yell, "Obama supporter standing here" as I point him out. Lol! In a gun store, that's probably a dangerous thing to be. I was surprised to see that kind of sticker in the lot. America looks to be doomed, but I'm not giving up. I still post my anti-bama stickers all over the place, and encourage others to join a common sense group of people who want the old FREE America back: the Tea Party.
