Political Reality versus Mainstreet

Particularly if they don't surf the web, but "dive" the web. That is, they deeply read the sites they agree with, and quickly leave the sites they don't.
hey, I thought everything I saw on tv was real until somebody showed me how to surf the web (my grandson set it all up for me.) You'd be amazed at what is out there.

But now you know everything you read on the internet is true. Especially the stuff at infowars.com.
:D
well, they both can't be true, somebody is lying
the funny thing is, MSM increasingly gets their news that they broadcast from Drudge or Politico or one of Donalds tweets.

WATCH TV! and catch up with everything new on twitter and the internet! tonight on cnn, msnbc and fox.

and in the hands of the people I know, that info on the internet can be a dangerous thing

the goal of our education system should be to make everybody smart enough to watch tv

we are losing too many good minds to the internet
I almost wanted to nominate " ...the goal of our education system should be to make everybody smart enough to watch tv" for this years best wisecrack. But then you dampened my enthusiasm by adding: "...we are losing too many good minds to the internet."

You should have stopped while ahead.

The democrats learned their lesson in 1972 when they got their collective heads handed to them nominating George McGovern. The party establishment got themselves back together after that debacle and said never again. The unwashed masses will be told their vote counts, but the establishment will do the picking has been the dirty little secret ever since. Having an idiot base helps them keep running this scam. It's almost as bad as the stupid republican voter who actually still believes the constitution means something. Add them together and the general population is about as dumb as a rock when it comes to how this criminally corrupt system actually works. I guess it's easier to live the fantasy rather than confront the reality.
With the current election election season in full tilt that "... dirty little secret " has apparently leaked out. That may be the best thing to happen in this election cycle. I thought Achilles had a good point. The Internet seems to be creating a new election paradigm, but not fast enough for some of us, myself included.

The web option may seem like it helps, but not much. The internet seems to be just one more place where such ridiculous notions as letting men in girls bathrooms can be shoved down our throats.

I don't believe the general population has been more aware of and active about the golden rule, "he who has the gold makes the rules," in my lifetime at least, than it is right now.

the story of my life.

The story of my life. I should have always stopped when I was ahead. But how do you know when you are ahead?
It was probably your old tired mind whose enthusiasm is being drained daily that got dampened and not anything I said. We can keep up the sarcasim as long as you can protect your reality. Give up your reality and we will quit making fun of it. Until then it is just me against you. And don't try to scare me with this notion that there is more on one side than the other. It doesn't matter to me if I am the only one left. I find no comfort in numbers. As a matter of fact, if there are numbers that probably means I am doing something wrong.

I see very little difference between short term trading and short term manipulation of politics. It's just a matter of profiting from market imbalances.

At this point only God Almighty can restore market balance, until then it's just my side against your side fighting over the crumbs of damage both of our sides have created.

That's a good thing, i.e., the awareness, and a step in the right direction, in my opinion.

But think about this if you would please. Are you a man because your brain tells you you're a man, or because you have a dick? Are you a women because your brain tells you you're are a woman, or because you have a vagina? This is a serious, not a frivolous, question.

Frankly, the evidence is building that our sexuality is determined by something other than body parts alone.

Is it better to use 19th century knowledge or 21st century knowledge, if they are in conflict. Have you considered the possibility that letting a girl with a dick into the girls bathroom may make far more sense than letting a girl with a dick into the boys bathroom. I'm not taking a side here so much as I am trying to point out that these are not such easy questions as they at first might seem to be.
