The coming ice age has been postponed for the foreseeable future due to increased greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere. Their forcing effect is far greater than the slight orbital induced reduction of solar gain. In fact, without the heat gain amplifying of CO2 , orbital changes would have little effect on temps.
Ice-ages in the past do not coincide with any particular epochs of precession of the equinoxes or other orbital considerations as theories citing variation of solar flux density imply. They are part of a larger ice/tropical oscillation that has existed for millions of years having, obviously, nothing to do with man and everything to do with long-cycle ocean and atmospheric chemistry, vulcanism and the occasional rock from space.
