I believe poker is easier but it depends who's around the table.

Chess is not part of that chart. The only way you can win a game of chess is by waiting for your opponent to blunder a move, and then be able to exploit it. It is pure skill.

Just watch two grand masters at the top level on a classic game, it is likely to end in a draw.

In poker you get to choose who you play against. You get to start at low stakes games and increase your stakes as your skill increases. You don't start off playing the very best players in the world. You are also aware that you don't stand a chance against the top players.

In trading you start out trading against the top players and think you are on equal ground.

I've heard poker referred to as a game of chess where you can't see your opponents pieces.

Shame its not on the list for public perspective.

I started playing poker for about a month and I can see better returns than my usual returns at day trading.
I play poker very conservatively, with very long and boring grinding sessions. Mainly looking to enter in the mud with good hands, nothing too crazy and slowly slowly building the bank.
Since both fields are a form of gambling, are there any professional poker players around that could share some thoughts on it?

Of course,I'm not sure how you trade,but if you can identify your 'set ups' as AA down to JJ and the rest to be discarded you would be on your way to trading conservatively and grinding out a trading living.

The killer in both enterprises is the variance.You can trade or play like a god for 2 months but for the next month you won't hit even a small pair or have the market react to any of your levels.

Its a thought provoking question actually.

If I have a KK equivalent in my trading and the market surprisingly moves against me,do I still have a strong hand? Are the big dogs trying to bluff me off it? What am I prepared to pay to back the strength of my hand? Do I continue and this is the time I run into AA? If I run into AA will it end my tournament?
