Yeah at the casino I'll definitely be "dead fish" so to speak but don't get a chance to play live poker much and think I'll enjoy myself more at some no-limit. I've barely gotten my feet wet online in NL so any kind of advice is appreciated.
Hey, if you're a trader, you can win at the NL tables right away, IMO. You don't need to be a dead fish for long. If ewile is right about the live games being softer than the Party NL $25 games...sheesh. I mean that is hard to imagine, but may be true.
Tight-aggressive play at the NL games just means what you were mentioning earlier - wait until you have a hand then bet it hard. You will get so many bad calls, it will be difficult to believe. You will lose badly when someone catches up on the riv, but you will win in the long run. If I hit a losing streak, I always switch to the single table Sit 'n Go tourneys, where you pay your $10 (plus $1 for the house) and then play 9 other guys, until one guy has all the chips. Top three finishers are in the money. I find this is a great way to decompress and refocus on your task which is to avoid putting all your money in when the odds aren't clearly in your favour. At the SNG games I generally sit out the first 20 or thirty hands unless it's KK or AA, just so that a few fish can eliminate themselves.
Try PokerStars, where they have 9 guys at a table so it's slightly easier to finish in the money.
This is all online advice, of course. No SNG games live yet, I don't think.

Everything you need to regularly beat the $25 NL online tables is there. Right now I am working on better positional play, which is hugely important. If you are not considering your position before every move you make, if you are not asking yourself whether you will be first or last to act, you are leaving money on the table.
