Do any of the rooms have a way for a beginner to "watch" the games and tourneys without playing? I looked around some of the sites, but didn't see how it could be done.

lol.... had to laugh when I read this. The fact is - I experience exactly the same thing. When I flop quads I feel no elation whatsoever. I merely look at my stack and those of the other players and try to figure out how best to play it. The best way I can describe my emotions when winning is 'cold resolve'.
My biggest leak BY FAR is the emotional reaction to a bad beat or a bad mistake in play or a player who is just bullying the table with no cards and winning by doing it.
Explain it? Very tough - after all, was it you or someone else who pointed out that these bad players making bad calls are what makes us money at the lower limits. Logically, I should be thrilled when my made nut flush all-in flop raise is called by buddy with a rag pair, who goes on to make the absurd runner runner boat. Give me that all day long, right?
I expect, though, that the answer has something to do with that most prevalent of motivators.... fear. The other one, sex, doesn't seem to be in play here
I'm recognizing this fact as one of the biggest impediments to overcome if I'm to continue trading for a living and actually enjoy what I do. No matter how fast my equity is rising on a good streak, I frequently still feel frustrated that I didn't take out or keep more than I could have from the market. The good days end up being nowhere as good as the bad days are bad, know what I mean?
This is my first weekend at my new place. So I am out getting all kinds of stuff, and on the way out I see about 20 tables and about 100 chairs outside my building. I think to myself that this is kind of odd, but I am too busy to even think about what the hell is up.
On the way home, I see the two front doors to my building are open, with people streaming into the building. I come in, and a huge plume of cigarrete smoke is coming out of this unit. Two guys come in and as I am carrying my stuff up the stairs, this guy comes out and opens the door and I peek thru the door and see about five or six tables lined in green felt with chips and cards on these tables :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:
I think these guys are running their own casino in my building!!!! LOL
I wonder if they play Bridge for money?

Although, I'm not too fond of their World Championship drug testing rules...

4K^TillerMaN:Yes, it was but it doesn't really have any real bearing on my choice to play Poker or even help me much as my Casino never offered any form of Poker.

4K^TillerMaN: I had always been slightly disappointed in Warcraft 3 to a certain extent. There always seemed like there was too much luck or imbalance in the game, for the last few months of War3 I felt I was only playing for money, through training on commentaries etc.
4K^TillerMaN: I wanted to try something else and my friend NTT (famous from BW) was already playing Poker for many months. He had tried to persuade me many many times to try Poker but I always refused. I finally relented and tried and got hooked hardcore on it.

4K^TillerMaN: Well, since I started in Nov1st I've made about $80,000. Most of that has come in the last couple of months tho as I now play much higher limits.
4K^TillerMaN: I have also won entry in the "World Series of Poker" this year. Which is like Pokers WCG except with a much bigger prize (probably around $3,000,000 this year for 1st place).
I'm flying to Vegas in May to take part in it.
