I just request a check when I take money out. It takes about a week. I don't really care because it's just fool around money.

If the deposit to your account was from a visa card, you can get a credit up to the amount of your deposit. Otherwise you need to request a check or use Neteller or FirePay.

I've thought about a thread like this so many times...and I couldn't possibly have said it any better. I'd simply say that Hold'em is all about cutting losses short and letting winners run. I'd reiterate that the 2+2 forums are a great educational tool. There are alos seveal books that are "biggies" in the Hold'em world, but I'd recommend starting with Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones.
I also wanted to let you all know that the site www.planetpoker.com has .05-.10 cent games. It's great, people take the game seriously (unlike at the play $ tables) and you can learn with little risk. Actually I think that the games at internet sites are tougher that at actual casinos, because to go to the trouble of finding a site, opening an account etc. requires some committment to the game. At casinos there are obviously alot of very good players, but there are plenty of vacationers looking to gamble it up and have a wild time (easy money).

LOL, no, I'm not. But I've lost a pot or two by not raising a woman who was easy on the eyes (where she would've folded if I raised). Now.... I have often imagined you much fun I could have in a poker room if I was one!

The psychological failures of men playing poker vs. above average looking women are well documented in the poker journals. It's just human nature. (Much like the markets are reflection of human nature/psychology.)

If exchanges were like poker tables, the above average looking women would get all the good fills!

The problem is : When one plays in an internet casino there is no way of knowing whether the game is rigged.

Yes, I agree and others have pointed this out too, i.e. dottom.
All I can tell you is that I would be at least breaking even if I hadn't made even 1/2 of the 25 or so glaring errors that I've made so far.

I swear, though, a good player doesn't need to cheat on these low-limit tables, because there is some absolutley atrocious play there. One guy I saw went from $61 to $117 in about 1 1/2 hours, and he never once looked like he would give it back. But he was good... I mean real good. There is no doubt in my mind that there are individuals who take a regular amount of cash out of these low limit tables.

I am very happy to find out that I can play .05/.10 tables - I am cashing out of my old site and going to this one, because the point is not to make money, but to learn (at first

). Also, as a result of the links provided here, I have learned a lot - specifically, that this is quite a complex game if you are a theory-type and want to understand the probabilities.
So yes, it could be rigged, but I don't think the very low limit tables are as attractive to the cheaters (invite comment, could be totally wrong about this).

All,
I am trying out this hold'em thing and am amazed at how I get the same feelings that I do with trading, I think that this will be a good way for me to get emotional control with out risking huge sums of money, for example, I was winning nicely at the .05/.10 tables and then move to the .25/.50 tables and felt the panic creeping up, and of course, trying to trade it with the same amount of money that I had on the .05/.10 table, I think there are many good lessons for me to learn from this poker stuff.
