hahaWell if this is true then I just might have shot to get better because I play 10/20 and No Limit Hold'em about 3 to 4 times a week and 8 out of 10 times I break even or win and your talking $300.00 pots easy so thanks for making it easier to understand and good luck at the card table and if you ever wanna play cards I'm not hard to find.
Graduated to the $20 SNG today. Results from $10 SNG:

Net profit: $120.00
That's $2.40 a game, folks. And it only took me a month to play that much!!

Do you play ring games at all or SNG single tables exclusively?
i know that some sites are probably listed in this thread, and i am going to go back and read all of it, but that will take some time. so, just like brokers, i am sure that there are better online poker sites than other. i have been looking for a place to play some. i have been to partypoker and pacificpoker. any other recomendations would be great, and any other advice. i have played tons of hold 'em, and now want to try it online. thanks ...

Boomer, you will find the loosest games at Party Poker. The problem I have with Party is the blind structure - you can sit down with a max of $25 at the .50/1.00 NL tables. This compares with a buy-in of $50 for the same table at i.e. PokerStars.
Also, if you want to play the quickie Sit N' Go single or two-table tournaments, you start off with 800 chips at Party, compared to 1500 at Stars. For my style of play I find it much easier to finish in the money when I have the bigger starting stack.
I have absolutely no affiliation with PokerStars whatsoever - there may be other sites that privide better blind structures for the ring games and bigger stacks for the SNG games.
One other thing - I have been paid out by all the big 4 sites and PokerStars is by far the best at timely and hassle free payouts, while my experience at Party has been less than stellar. Having said all of this about Party, there is a reason why a lot of sharks troll those waters, obviously.
Ring games are simply the regular type of table, one at which you sit in with a stake (there is a minimum and maximum amount depending upon the amount of the blinds) and start playing. People come and go from these tables.
SNG stands for Sit N Go - these are a specific type of table for which X number of players (usually 9-10) get in a lineup. When the lineup reaches 9 - 10 players, a table is created. Everyone pays their entrance fee + a fee to the house for hosting the table. I usually play the $10+1 games - that is, $10 goes into the prize pool and $1 goes to the house. Each player is seated and is given the same number of chips (e.g. 1000) and the game begins. The blinds escalate as time goes by. The last three people left at the atble are in the money, and you play until one person is left.
Holy smokes, it's a totally different world. This is on Paradise by the way. But man, it's already made me a better player. It's incredible how much you learn when you move up. One thing is constant tho (in trading and poker):
When you sit down, if you are thinking about winning, you are wrong. You must only think about doing the right thing, and always do the right thing. After that, winning isn't up to you (but you'll end up winning as much as possible).
I just in the SNGs now. I tried some $3/$6 ring but couldn't handle it: I was scared when I started so I did the right thing and won a lot of money. Then I wanted to win more, so I lost it all and then some.
