Point and Figure

Hello guys,

Great thread, I am really fascinated by Point & Figure and Gann swing charts.
I have a reasonable understanding of P&F but not Gann swing charts, are those points on the swing charts projected by square of 9.
I have some Gann books but none really have a simple easy way to understand how to construct or interpret these charts, can you great guys please give some suggestions.

Cheers,

Hi email,

I totally agree with Slacker’s and the other readers’ comments on Amazon about Jeremy du Plessis’ book: it’s THE seminal work on the subject of P&F charting and a must read for anyone with an interest in trading in my opinion.

I think you should also take a look at Marc Rivalland on Swing Trading which you can find here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/pr.../103-7446348-7856607?ie=UTF8&n=283155&s=books - you’ll find an outline of the contents of the book and a wider range of reader reviews and opinions here: http://books.global-investor.com/books/14705.htm - you find that there’s plenty of stuff on P&F and Gann Swing charts.

HTH

Cheers

you will probably findthat duplessis should be used as the text book.rivalland is just his method of combining p/f and swing.
the principles in duplessis are the basic building blocks of any method/system

Quote from Scalper007:

Does anyone here use real-time point and figure charting on a 5 minute chart? Is there even such a thing? Or does it only work on daily charts?

I was hoping that maybe I can use point and figure charting on a 5 minute chart as an addition to my current scalping strategies..

Here's an example of a point and figure daily chart of ibm:

I've been using Bull's-Eye Broker 5 with eSignal for a while now. ( http://www.pointandfigure.com ) I dropped updata due to the high price price and it was constantly crashing.
