Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional

Quote from axeman:

You may poison the well with "hidden agendas" all you want,
but my point still remains:

When the believers claim this is no big deal and that no
one gives a shit.... THEY ARE FULL OF IT :D
Could it be any more obvious??? Hehe...
what I object to more then anythign else is the continued errosion of traditions that have helped build this country..and I feel they should worry about keeping guns, not god out of the school

It's a blatant constitutional violation, and should be challenged.
I would personally prefer a better challenger than Newdow,
but you gotta admit, he has balls.
WRONG....how was the girls constitutional rights violated, name one right violated? especially in light of the fact she is christian

Death threats anyone? The believers have such a bloody
history it doesn't surprise me that he is getting death threats,
and shows what an embarrassment some believers are.
If these are christians, what ever happened to turning the other cheek?
Hypocrites to the extreme.
What death threats?? can we beleive anything he says? anyway their is hypocrisy in all walks of life, however, the threats are wrong but you know what? to put your daughter through this for your own self serving agenda.....is sick...some 'hero' Gordo picked out LOL

I think the people who originally wasted the money
to PUT IT ON money, should pay for their error by paying
to get it taken off money.

Quote from ElCubano:

I agree 100%...and I could care less if they remove "IN GOD WE TRUST" from the money...Besides most people trust money more than they do GOD....but make sure he pays for the removal and all the costs involved if not then the majority should rule what gets printed and thats that...you want equal then thats equal and I can assure you if this went to vote ( DEMOCRACY ) it would remain as is....peace

Why??? they are not the ones arguing to take it off....if you want it off great...but pay for it...

Im with you, just pay for it.....When you want your house painted the way you want it do you make the previous onwer pay for it??? ....either collect money from the non-believers( minority ) to pay for it or if you dont care leave it as is......peace

TM: "WRONG....how was the girls constitutional rights violated, name one right violated? especially in light of the fact she is christian"

Ummm, what about the parents constitutional rights?
A parent should be able to send their child to a public "religious neutral" school.
Tax pay dollars should not be used
to pay for the establishment of religion in public schools.
Any parent that sends a child to a public school can challenge this,
regardless of wife/daughter beliefs.
The supreme court obviously AGREES, since they agreed to
take the case. ( Didn't they?? Don't quite remember )

Personally, I will wait and see what the court decides.

My guess is that they sidestep the issue and throw it out
for reasons other than separation of church and state.

As for your claim that he is doing it for his own gain... WHAT gain?
This man is going to catch living hell from all sides for
the rest of his life. He must sincerely believe he is correct to
put himself through something like this. It's going to SUCK for him.
At least he lives in california. He will be ok there, mostly.
But he will be hated on a national level.

If he tried this in the bible belt, he better seriously fear for his life.

That is fine but Christian parents that want to send their kids to a private school are faced with paying for two schools. That is not economically "religious neutral" at all, that is very biased towards the new religion of secular humanism.

Simple.

If you painted someones house a different color, and then a court ruled that
you did it illegally, wouldn't you be required to PAY to have
it painted back to the original color? Yep :)

When the majority wasted our $$$ to have our money changed
to add "In god we trust" ILLEGALLY, then the majority should
have to pay to fix the error.

When blacks and women won the right to vote, did anyone
ask them to PAY for the changes to all the voting forms, and
related machinery and processes? Of course not.

Axe.....trust me...READ up on this character......He is SEPARATED form his daughter and has not been involved in her up bringing...HER MOTHER and HER are devout CHRISTIANS...and the father even said " i used my daughter as the hook".....this guy has also been on the speaking circuit at all the law schools....he's been on CNN, O'Reilly ect....he is parlaying this into big cash for himself at the expense of a daughter who wants to be left alone!!!....what a hero

Totally false.

This is true of ANYONE, including the nonreligious.

They TOO must pay for TWO schools if they wish to
send their child to a private school.

It amazes me that people are so against a public school that
DOES NOT push other peoples views.

If a school makes no mention of ANY beliefs like atheism, or
theism, why do the theists always then assume its an
atheistic school???

That is their core flaw.

Please explian to me how , if you send your child to public school you have to come out of pocket for private schools as well???? ....also, if you live in an aprtament or rental in most states, explain to me how youeven have to puy for public schools? generally its connected to real estate taxes

maxpi was making this claim, not me.

He said:

I just pointed out that this holds true for everyone.
You pay for public school with your taxes and then pay
again if you wish to send your kid to a private school instead,
regardless if you are christian or atheist or whatever.
