i agree that there are a lot of crap posts in other forums. i never suggested this was a magic bullet to cure ET of its ills.
as i said to you earlier, it's about IMPROVEMENT.
but, regarding crap posts in other forums maybe we could have a minimum word total before a post is counted.
that would eliminate all those "i agrees" and "rofl"s and those insipid one emoticon posts. (it would also force metooxx to expound on his thoughts some more and that can't be a bad thing)

This poll is confusing, and it is VERY easy to read it wrong and vote the opposite of what you wanted to vote. Surely, the whole point about posting is about how participative you are, irrespective of where you make those posts.

Your use of the term "It goes away from everything ET stands for!" is an emotive assumption, not a fact... at first glance, a reader will be inclined to vote for anything that "goes away from everything ET stands for".... that's why this poll sucks and will probably result in highly skewed results...
Anyway, number of posts is related to participation... by suggsting that you should not be counting posts in Chit Chat, you are implicitly saying that making posts in Chit Chat is not participating in the Elitetrader community.... this is rubbish... all posts in ANY of the Elitetrader forums is participating in Elitetrader.... another thing >> why should a crap post in another forum be counted and a good post in Chit Chat not be posted... moreover, how does one even go about judging what is crap and what isnt...
