Platforms with ZERO charge (or very low charge) that allow you to trade exchange spreads

Well that is a fact Jack. I started using TT in 1998. The OP was looking for free.

No you are wrong Bone. The majority of the guys trading ICE contracts in the UK are using XTrader. Don't deflect by saying I was asking for free, you were wrong and got called out.

Not at all. I've personally traded plenty of power and nat gas swaps using TT. Not to mention beau coup Nymex and ICE futures. You were looking for free - which WebICE is if you register through them and your FCM.

backsliding now.

Propwarrior, all jabbing aside, go free with some discount broker if that's what you want to do. You've been warned. I hope it works out and you can tell us how good it is and what suckers we are. Good luck with things.

OK, here's even harder maths. If you're doing 12,000 Round Turns per year in Nymex (your OP implies that you are trading Crude Oil Calendar Spreads) then leasing a Nymex seat for $500 per month and paying member rates would be CONSIDERABLY more cost effective than worrying about your execution platform.

I'm banging on this hard because over the years I've seen traders have so many issues trying to execute spreads using free platforms and discount brokers. What works OK for day trading ES does not necessarily make it so for a spread - even an exchange supported one. And the discount broker will almost certainly not have the risk system set up to margin spreads correctly.

I am aware of the various exchange membership programs. My OP didn't imply I am trading Crude Oil Calendar Spreads, didnt mention that in the OP. I am trading some CL spreads its a mix of ICE, CME & Eurex spreads. A Nymex seat lease would save me $1.50 per round trip my nymex only volume does not justify paying for a seat lease as my trades are spread over many exchanges.

In addition the seat lease is a red herring in terms of platform choice as you can still use a free platform AND lease a seat.

I already have an account with interactive brokers so have been using the free TWS platform, it's clunky but it works ok. The purpose of the thread was to see if anyone had any alternatives. Most people answered sensibly but you turned it into a 'free platforms are rubbish' thread and threw in some trading course proganda, untruths and low blows for good measure.

I am not buying your passive aggressive good luck wish.
