Two suggestions and a two-part question. I've never used any more than 6 monitors and even then I felt like I lost the mouse cursor - do you feel that way? Especially since the monitors aren't tight with no gaps?
First suggestion - use something bland, simple and easy on the eyes for a background. Solid black, grey, brown, green (pastels, etc. easy on the eyes) but also contrasting to your charts. A picture may confuse your eyes among smaller grouped charts here and there, etc.
Second suggestion - not sure what OS you are running (hope at least W7x64 if not W8.1x64) - you can enlarge your cursor/mouse pointer... it may help if you lose it with that many screens. Even to change the settings to be persistent or blink, etc.
Question part 2 - If you make the changes I suggested does it really help? Honestly curious. Would love to hear "no it was a dumb idea" just as much as a thank you...
