I like your point..

How is your trading going on.
I am planning to put 6-8 screens... Lets be in touch :)..

Quote from justrading:

I am planning on more monitors so that I can have more instruments on screen(s). For each I have 2 time frames - longer for judging market direction, shorter for timing entries and exits. So if I put 2 instruments on 1 screen (= 4 charts), there is no room for the DOM.

Plus, I use the software to manage the trade once I am in, though I over-ride if I have reason to. So, primary reason is to allow me to follow more instruments, not necessarily trading all, but catching opportunity.

If I were to focus on just one, like some do CL or ES, then 2 monitors is plenty.

Like you said, boils down to how one trades.

Nice setup

Could you tell me please.

1) Which processor used.. model
2) Ram used, model
3) Mother board used. model
4) VGA card used.. model

I am planning to setup 6-8 monitors too..

Would appreciate your guidance as well :)

Helping a few friends setup a new desk... Its temporary and not finished yet. The right hand side will be 2x2 quad 26" widescreens like the left side. Three computers in total - left & right (quad 26" monitors) are where they will sit and the two 22" in the middle is for news/TV/youtube, etc. running on a seperate machine.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics - I'll put up a better one once the right hand workstation is complete and the bloombergs are installed.

Hanging on Ergotron hardware, running on HPxw8600 hardware with dual Xeon x5482 CPUs and 16GB RAM. Middle box is a dual x5460 with 8GB RAM. W7x64.

Seems too much
Aint your eyes hurting a lot ? :)

I like that idea and its been playing on my mind for some time. I currently have 4 screens but I'm going to expand to 8 screens. It doesn't mean it equals doubling up my trading or I will be tading twice as fast but it makes my job damn easier with 8 screens running. I'm able to effectively monitor 16 markets without flip flopping screens.

Hye Shagi,
Which broker do you use for your fx trading.. Are you satisfied.. is it ECN?

After recently shaking another serving of trader's trail mix from my vintage 1986 IBM Model M, I am pleased to have discovered a device that ensures my baby keeps on clicking at least another 25 years:

HAHAHAH! i LUV IT! NICE JOB:)

I think I have a pretty awesome setup. It's efficient, stylish and cheap. :D

- IKEA workstation desk, used to be called Jerker, now Fredrick. New one, not as functional. With all accessories, like $200-$250.
- Desk has 2 CPU holders on the sides. Left one is custom built, main computer. Right one is old Dell, which is not used anymore.
- Desk accommodates multiple adjustable levels.
Top level has Canon scanner/printer. Fax is a PCI board. QNAP TS219P NAS server. SoundWorks subwoofer/speakers.
Middle level has 3 LCDs, 2 19 inches, one 22 inch.
Keyboard level has KVM switch (don't use it anymore, use Remote Desktop). DSL modem. Gigabit router, Netgear WNDR3700.

I want to add/change a couple of things.
- Add a Peplink router to load-balance between Cable and DSL.
- Replace monitors with same brand so that they are symmetrical in size.
