Pictures of your trading stations

haha - I actually have a day job

Someday I hope to buy that farmhouse in VT many of us dream of and daytrade/wrench cars for a living...

Just posted a thread in the hardware section - trying to decide between a 2x2 cube setup or 3 in a horizontal row setup.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thx!

You know my opinion - 2x2 cube, you can see everything at once. Win, your desk is scarily neat, sign of a very sick mind. (Don't forget to finish the job on FFIV for me Monday :D)

NoD - I'll try my best... FFIV down might not jive with my goals on monday though :D

I already own 4 Dell 17" monitors so there is no wide screen option:mad: Maybe I'll just get both and try them out...

Ergonomically speaking, you supposedly want to keep your eye's close to level with the top of screens. I worked on several trading desks and even with 8 screens, they designed the desks so we were looking level or down.

A number of traders I know, including me in a home setup, experienced headaches from staring at monitors set too high. Everyone is different, though, and I bet some look up without any ill effect, maybe by just shifting their gaze and not cocking their head back to do so.

Decided to purchase the 3 across, knowing that I can add more up top eventually. I purchased from Dell - who was VERY helpful. I did a semi-custom order, purchasing the upright pole from a 2x2 and a 3x1 cross arm. Dell sells the cross arms individually so at a later date I can purchase either another 2x1 arm or 3x1 arm for up top.

Will look like this - i'll have by the end of the week so I'll pop up a photo of my home setup then.

This is what I bought:
