Actually that could not be more wrong. While it may feel like black is nice, it actually causes your eyes to intensely strain.

ProfLogic has it right. I too spoke to a few eye doc's and they said the same thing.

Agree, I actually use the gray tone for my computer background but prefer black on my chart pages, its better contrast for my bars and indicators!

I found "Pool table felt green" is a great chart background color for my night time trading when I have my office lights dim. Pool table felt green is just right....not too dark and also not too bright. :D

My daytime screen background coloring is a lightish blue/gray color which I find works great for my needs.
