Thanks for the replies,

"enough power supply cables of the proper voltage & plug"

How do you mean it? Do the video cards need a serparate power supply? Aren't they power supplied directly by the MB?

limitdown,
you are absolutely right, everyone I have asked gave me different answers.
Thanks for your suggestion, I will ask the official tech supports.

The video card specs (freely available from the manuf before you buy) should tell you what power requirements are. Those same specs will also answer your questions regarding OS, etc.

A high-end gamer video cards can draw MORE power than a quad-core CPU.

Single CPU

2 PCI or PCIe Video cards

1 - Dual head with 512 meg of Video RAM

1 - Single with 256 meg of Video Ram

Windows will handle up to 16 monitors on one PC if the configuation is correct. More if you are familiar with "tweaking" the box.

Thanks ProfLogic, so to learn “tweaking”. :)

Planning to go dual montor as soon as I graduate from paper trading. Charts+T&S+Order Entry just too much for 1 screen !

Items of Note:

TI-81 Calculator: Leftover from high school and still functional !

Java Book: Highly Effective Monitor stand :D

Thanks all for their posts ! Now I know what some real trading stations look like...now I know what I need to buy as soon as I start making some money doing this ;)

Trading setup. New larger desk coming in, which will clean up the look (covered back/sides). Two systems, 3 24", 1 20", cable and dsl connections. All APS protected. View is when I turn my head to the right out the balcony door window. Mt. Evans, 14,264 ft...inspiring. When I've had a bad day, I say F it (look to the mountains), let's go skiing. When I've had a good day, I say F it (look to the mountains), let's go biking. :)
