2 PCI or PCIe Video cards

1 - Dual head with 512 meg of Video RAM
1 - Single with 256 meg of Video Ram

Windows will handle up to 16 monitors on one PC if the configuation is correct. More if you are familiar with "tweaking" the box.

I need a little help!
If I connect 2 Sapphire X1550 PCIe video card to my MB can I plug 4 monitors and extend XP desktop to each other?

If you have enough slots of the proper type (PCIe) or better, enough space for the size of the cards, and enough power supply cables of the proper voltage & plug, then yes, you can stack all the cards that will fit in there.

As to how many of what type of monitor each card will push, you need to read the card specs on that.

suggested steps:

1) get the version and mfgr date and release of the BIOS and MB that you are running under or purchasing

2) get the specific model and make of the PCI / PCIe card that you intend

2a) ask these important questions regarding size, length, power supply demands / requirements and capability to handle multiple PCIe cards

2b) ask the tech support of the selected video card mfgr as many questions and certification for the specific MB (release, BIOS, version and intended oper syst) details will work as intended in dual or triple or quad PCIe configuration

2c) ask those same questions on another day too and with another technicians

2c) ask those same questions on yet another day again

you will get different answers depending upon whom you ask and on what days, but it is worth front running all these details before incurring purchase / return costs and waisted time

or simply pay for the expensive trading computer rigs that offer these multiple advanced level PCIe card configurations and benefit from their technical support and development experiences
