I am thinking of upgrading by adding a 24"monitor to my pair of 15" samsungs.

Will the 24 be grainy at all and what software/card do I need to achieve this miracle?

I plug in the 40" lcd samsung and it look just fine, note the laptop is 15" for comparison purpose.

I just took a look at the 40" screen in the last post. What I don't understand is what's the point of getting a super large screen (i.e. >24") when the proportional resolution is the same. I would love to get one 40" monitor if I could fit as much as say four 19" monitors, but as you can see in that last pic, the pages get just as big... it's useless.

I have a Sony laptop I'm using and it has a 17" screen with a whopping 1920X1200 resolution! I can fit two monitors worth of info on it and the picture is absolutely beautiful.

Does anyone know where I can get 17" or 19" monitors with 1920X1200 resoution?

I would ideally like to put together six wide screen 17" monitors with 1920X1200 WUXGA resolution.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Anyone use XView to set up their monitors and stand package? I see them here at the Trader's Expo and for $750 a screen for 15" flat screen you get the screen and the stand combined. So for 6 screens it is $4,500 which includes the flat screen hardware to have them stacked tight 3 across the bottom and 3 across the top.

First instinct is that it is a bit pricey but what I like is that you get the stand which is modular so you can add or take off more screens and take out the extra brakcets or add as needed. So if you only do 4 you can always add 2 more at a later time.

Anyway, thoughts?

www.xview.com is the site where they have screen shots

6 (19 inch Samsungs) on one stand for $2994

or

6 (17 inch Samsungs) on one stand for $2202

Exactly Atomic, unless you have horrible eyesight the 40" doesn't do a lot of good for the price.

As far as I know only the Sony laptop has the 1920x1200 resolution without going up to a 23" or 24". Then your options are Dell, HP, BenQ, Samsung, Acer, Viewsonic and Sony.

Thanks for the info. I felt that $750 per monitor including stand was high but had nothing to measure it against. I am more inclined to buy the monitors separately and cheaply and slap them together at a much lower cost :D

that is crazy to spend 2K plus for a stand when 19 lcd monitors are sellin for 130. i just found one for 130, except of course it was rebates. but nevertheless lcds have come down so much, unbelievable.

jay,

i have seven monitors on one one leg stand...

it is ergotron...i looked on their site and mixed prepacked configurations and a few extra parts and got a great deal...
i talked to their tech support and they figured it out for me exactly what parts i needed...

it has to do with both size and weight...

they were not sure if it would work but i gave it a shot and it is perfect...

Nice setup.

My study is a mess right now because I'm studying until June (I'll come up with some other excuse after that) but I can't complain about any lack of monitors :p .

A little face-lift.
