Quote from lilboy716:

that's alot of LCD's and information.

can you process that much information during trading day?

use to trade on the floor....

somehow it all makes sense...

now if i can only figure out how to turn it on...:p

i called ergotron tech support and spoke to a very nice fellow in engineering and he explaind how the system works...

it is basically like legos..

i am using a custom setup of my own design...it all rests on one base..

cost around 700 bucks..

if you mix prepacked and single items you can save some money...

i think it is ergotron.com

try having 2 LCD's w/o arms first.

chiguy said he has experience processing information from many screens at the same time.

im looking at 2LCD's and a laptop, that's alot of information already. i am only trading 3 stocks most of the time.

as you get comfortable then add more monitors.
IMO

What brand do you use for monitor arms?

looking to buy arms for either 2 or 4 19" lcd's.

that's not an issue. i already have the screens. i just want to know where he purchased the arms. I am going with 1 four arm set, or 2 two arm sets.

Used 6 screens for a long time at Bright. This is actually downsizing compared to that.

2 old fashion 17" CRTs
1.6 GHz PC (2.5 years old)
2nd hand HP laser4L (2 years old)
2nd hand desk ( 5 years old since i start trading)
a good quality leather chair (from new 4 years old)
a little clock
a teamug (i can't trade without it)
Here i made my living last year.
Congratulations on keeping it simple and emphasizing your brain over the hardware experience. However, I would advise caution with two cathode ray tubes up-close for hours.

Also, a tea mug seems like a good idea. I tried a whisky glass for a while, but that got a little out of hand.
