Pictures of your trading stations

What for do anybody need four processor system in a trading platform? It is pure snobbism! Two things are really important. One is very fast and minimum 1GB (800mhz) memory, second, fast internet connection 1mbp/s at least!

Did you ever ask yourself, if the Windows XP or new bugged Vista will support four processor pc system? Also you should check what version of OS gonna be run on your new pc x32 or x64 version?!

Quad-core PC will not help you in any way picking gooood, hot, perspective stocks!

:D :D :D

Thanks for the concern, but you have no clue and have not read my prior posts. I have other software running while trading. I make money trading to purchase extreme hardware and that is all that matters.
Now I have someone that thinks they are a computer expert telling me my setup is not good, without all the facts. Too funny.

I personally use at home trading station with an AMD 3500+, 4Gb ram (dual 800mhz), 8800GTS + integrated graphic card, ergotron, plus three NEC 19" LCD AccuSync 195VXM+, running Cybertrader software and other stuff simultaneously without any major problem!

For mobile platform I use TripleHead2Go + HP Compaq nx9420 (2GB)

But for fun I’m planning to buy VisionStation

Well, everybody buys what she or he needs …. suites the best. If u make lot of $$$ then all the hardware question is a rhetorical one. Besides, we - traders / investors - usually change, upgrade hardware once a year!

Btw. Didn’t mean to offend you.

I agree with you on the power issue. No reason to go to battle under prepared. The question that I had, why the quad core insted of 2 dual cores are there any benifits draw backs. ( I just bought a 2 dual core machine.)

Some people aren't just "picking stocks."

Agree with you minmike. Going to battle with daytrading requires an edge. I watch about 60 pre-selected stocks at every open, looking for opportunities. I "pick my stocks" before the market opens.

Bought the quad core because I had the money to burn. After reading about it and watching task manager performance I know it works. The dual core should be fine depending on what you're doing (I'm not a computer expert :) ). Was originally going to the dual too.

the new setup kicks ass. I love having 6 screens so I can see better the windows that I usually toggle through.

I'm beginning to push the envelope now of what my computer/internet connection is capable of. so good timing on quad core discussion.

my internet is running around 3-4meg on download. and the data itself doesn't seem to be lagging. so no problem there.

I've openned 4 tradestation desktops, and it started to bog down my CPU tremendously I think, or at least at the open. I closed it down to 2 desktops, and it seems to be fine. we'll see. but StockzTrader, I may need to consult you on a quad core in the near future.

Great to hear Bandit! Very cool

I knew my pc was overloaded in the past by watching the windows task manager performance and program behavior. Consider having a look at that.

Here's my quad core shot. Where in the past I was pegging at 100% with my old PC, now the very worst "peak" that I've seen is 75%, and that is rare, when all four CPU's are hitting it hard.
