Philanthropy - What are YOU giving back to humanity?

That's the mission for this life.
Go for the calling, build your wealth & eventually, give it all back, by building, magnificent structures of art.
Apart of all the ideas that exists by now & the unknown ones from the future, probably the main goal, would be bringing LOTR's main cities, into the real world.
Minas Tirith, Erebor, Kings of Argonath.
Erebor would be the most challenging one, since building massive halls under the mountain wouldn't be that safe. But that's the juice, a challenge.
For all of it, a bachelor in architecture should be incorporated in the future plans.
Some 3D design studies as well.
Tho the sketches could be done on paper.
A massive following should be build via social media, with the help of art related videos and lesser projects, so that, when the time - would be right (in my 60's - 70's), a message would spread fast, that some crazy billionaire is about to waste his net, on projects like that.
Creations, that would be nothing more, but the legacy of combined human craftsmanship, engineering, art & dedication,
for the future generations.
The Dragon's curse of wealth, that's a possible scenario too. The corruption of One Ring.
That's the mission for this life.

The Gates Foundation has functionally eradicated several diseases and done immense good in the world. They proudly pay market salaries for their people in order to attract the best people, it's one of Gates' core philosophies. By your philosophy, Bill Gates is a moron.
Why in the world would you expect top minds to work for poverty wages simply because they work for a non-profit? Not sure where you live in the world, but $100k in the U.S. isn't much for someone with a bachelor's or masters and a few years experience in anything, let alone someone who's demonstrated the ability to effectively do their job managing complex programs.
Are there worthless employees in the non-profit world, absolutely. Same as in every large corporation and many small ones. I'm mighty curious though as to what kind of "auditor" you were if you were determining the value relative to paycheck individual employees were contributing to the organization you were auditing? Not a determination an outside accountant is even remotely qualified to make. And something that most accounting firms would fire their employees for if they decided to not only take it upon themselves to opine on that, but to do so on a public forum like this. Heck, they'd probably count themselves lucky to be rid of you and not get sued by the client. Frankly you're not reflecting well on your personal ethics or professionalism with that post.
Read once, that out of $1, that we give to Red Cross, only $0.2 reaches the final destination & person in need, the rest is ,,wasted'' on logistics etc.
