The chat someone set up on chatzy seems dead, looks like votes are in...
You mean that people don't want the chatroom back?
The reason why it is dead, because I set it up just as an example, and I forgot the password to it. Without that I can't reset it, thus the room/text would be going on and on for weeks. Not to mention it needs more exposure, not just a casual mentioning in the middle of a thread. I am also not willing to play the role of the chatroom moderator/reseter. You need someone who actually wants to be there most of the time.
So if someone (like Volente) is willing, here is how to make it successful:
1. Make up a room and make sure you have the moderator password.
2. Advertise it in a separate thread, that the chat will be open everyday.
3. Reset it (so the conversations are cleared) every day or every other day, so it doesn't get overly long. Maybe every other day is better, so people can be held responsible for their calls.
4. You also have to attend it, so someone is there most of the time...
That is about it, quite simple really.... The only disadvantage of an offsite chatroom is that people can pretend to be someone else, but other than that, I don't see any problem with it. If there is a need, there is the solution, you guys are just too lazy to do it....
