Peter King's hearings.

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

This actually true. He was a huge apologist for the IRA. He tries to make the distinction that they were fighting an occupation, so I guess he would be OK with the la raza radicals conducting terrorism in the SW United States.

This raises the old point, that the winners get to write the official history, and that they are (since they won) necessarily on the side of "right".

"And while that conversion to Christianity by a woman who earlier had killed her mother , maybe a genuine conversion??;
the state still fried her, like a piece of bacon.

Let me guess, you are a Christian...Jesus would be so proud.

A Christian's Concerns over King's Muslim Hearings:

Congressman Peter King’s hearings on Capitol Hill this week about the radicalization of American Muslims have been the subject of great controversy. Many people have called for him to cancel the hearings. As I see it, we don't need to spend our time and money of holding hearings about what we already know: yes, there are a handful of dangerous radicals among the millions of American Muslims. What we really need to focus on in these hearings is how we connect with the Muslim community in healthy ways that respect the law and don't lead to profiling. We have a responsibility to figure out how to keep our nation safe from the violent few without targeting the peaceful many.

This matters to me because I’m concerned about what kind of future am I creating for my children. I don’t want them to inherit a country that’s polarized on the basis of religion or treats one group as second-class citizens.

Cgroupman;
you & he made some excellant points. Interesting a Rev & Rabbi are meeting with a mosque Cleric....... & they are planning a turkey hunt.Hope they are more careful than VP Channey.LOL.

:D

Frankly , they /Mr King may be helpful. With all due respect, President Bush & President Barack calling Islam a religion of peace, does not make it so. Mr Larry Bates called that ''pandering for votes''

Fortunately, about 90 % of the 1 billion muslims do not believe the Koran, but about 10% do, so the 100 milion fanatics need to be exposed.Military solutions are helpful also.

As one general on FOX news asked somewhat sarcastically;
where are all the Southern Baptist sucicide bombers???. So no, not all religions are any where close to equal.
:cool:

If the US is really independent of any religion they should strike all references to God. ie. on Money: "In God We Trust" in our pledge of allegiance: "One nation under God", In all Oaths and court proceedings.

Otherwise the Country has an inherent bias and conflicts in these types of witch hunts.

For a country full of smart and resourceful people we sure have our share of boneheads in powerful political positions.

Our laws and Constitution are based upon Christian/Judeo values. The Constitution separates Church and State not God and State. The idea is that the Church leaders are not the ones to take power of government and make the laws.

That's worked so well for Odumba, maybe we should have NASA take the lead.
Quote from cgroupman:

if we can somehow reach out to the Islamic leaders for some good, then perhaps something good could come out of this.

Libturds can't handle facts because they'd invalidate their world view.
Quote from pspr:

It looks like the Jews take the brunt of the religous hate crimes. This is from th 2009 FBI statistics.

Of the 1,575 victims of an anti-religious hate crime:

71.9 percent were victims because of an offender's anti-Jewish bias.
8.4 percent were victims because of an anti-Islamic bias.
3.7 percent were victims because of an anti-Catholic bias.
2.7 percent were victims because of an anti-Protestant bias.
0.7 percent were victims because of an anti-Atheist/Agnostic bias.
8.3 percent were victims because of a bias against other religions (anti-other religion).
¡4.3 percent were victims because of a bias against groups of individuals of varying religions
