Personal Trading Web Site

Quote from tyrant:

Hi,

Can somebody suggest where I can learn to create a website which has a a left sidebar and a right sidebar with a middle content column. The sidebars can fit in the links as well as some advertising links or banners or polls etc. I like this kind of format but I cannot find a site with custom templates where I can choose such formats. Most only have a simple content and a navigation bar format.

Thanks

The old $soft Frontpage program had simple wizards to create starter websites: I am sure that you could use this or an equivalent with results good enough to get a brochure type site up and running .......

There are two schools of thought:
(1) a high school student can design a workable brochure website for about 8 dollars per hour, and about 10 hours of work.
(2) You need a professional design firm.

Option (2) is really not viable unless you are talking about a giant budget and you have the cashflow and customers - or investors - to justify it.

Websites are marketing vehicles or customer/employer portalls, or catalog sales equivalents. Today, even hooking up a system to a database is often a point and click excercise with no programming - for simple relatively low traffic sites.

You should be able to hire someone to get a basic system with database integration up and running on a hosted site for less than 1000.00 dollars.

or you could battering your trading skill for web building skill.

if you slap the magical phrase 'for education only' on the front page, SEC can't touch you.

I was thinking of doing a website of my trading so I opened an account at www.blogger.com.

However, now for the last 4 days everytime I try to log into my blogger site I get server error and can't see my Blog.

Is it just me or is everyone having trouble accessing Blog sites? Are there any other websites like that which are more reliable that I could use to do my trading website?

I have tried emptying my history, files and cookies but this hasn't helped. Now getting rather frustrated.

Thanks for your help.

hmmmm,

i just logged in to blogger without any trouble and since Google owns it ... it's stability should be of good

not sure what the trouble could possibly be

you might try going there in a different browser or on a different computer

do a search at google for "free blogs" in quotes and you will get plenty of alternates

xanga is popular

Good luck :)
