Another attempt at false equivalency.
The people you named are participating in the political process, a core First Amendment value. I know as a liberal you sincerely believe the First Amendment only protects speech you agree with, but the courts have taken a very different view.
The Perry prosecution by contrast is the criminalization of a political dispute. Like the IRS scandal, it is banana republic corruption. Even liberals like the NYT and washPo editorial boards are concerned enough to object.
Breaking the law is not a "political dispute". Determining whether or not a law has been broken is the job of investigators, grand juries, indictments, trials, juries. I'm sure that as a Repub you are all for the rule of law.
Even well known leftist David Axelrod believes this to be nonsense. It's all about the mug shot. Once they get that, it's mission accomplished. MSNBC can then run it continuously.
More nonsense, but what do I expect?
Even the NYTimes and Washington Post, both liberal democrat house organs, recognize this for what it is, a banana republic-type misuse of the criminal law to persecute political opponents.
