FYI, the Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR3700 is a highly recommended WiFi router for OpenWRT (which supports MultiWan). Just follow the LuCI/GUI instructions for an easy install.

Its litterally as easy as building a normal computer.
Its not like a normal "off the shelf" router where you can just plug it in and it works - but its much much better and more robust than just about anything you can buy off the shelf.
You can buy a Linksys WRT54G2 router on ebay... That can be flashed with dd-wrt so its an ideal platform for an alternative to an internal WiFi access point.

I have the WNDR3700. But I searched Google and a few posts says it won't work.
Have you actually done?
Quote from Mr_You:
No I haven't but referencing the compatibility list it appears to be supported/working. Just note there are two different versions of the WNDR3700 and note which versions of OpenWRT are known to work.

Thanks. Is there an easy step by step instructions on hooking up a DSL and Cable modem? I was gonna get the Peplink Balance 20 but if I can achieve the same thing with the Netgear, prefer to go that route and save an extra box.
Just be aware that consumer-grade dual-WAN components (e.g., Netgear) have a poor reputation for reliability. That's why you may be wise to consider a more commercial-grade solution from Peplink.Quote from lwlee:
