Has wheels blamed it on the wind turbines yet?
Lets see it improve the grid and make make it resistant to EMPs and natural disasters... rather than be the typical billion dollar giveaways to cronies and companies calling themselves green.
So there is not a “the grid.” States in the east and the west have region grids for the purposes of energy sharing when states cannot meet demand for various reasons. There are 2 exceptions, one in a section of florida is isolated and another for the entire state of Texas.
Texas got itself into this mess because they didn’t want to join with other states because doing so would require higher standards than Texas has. So Texas stupidly went on its own and over the last few decades deregulated and deregulated some more and lo’ and behold their energy infrastructure is now failing.
The best part is that consumers didn’t even get cheaper electricity, the private companies that run the energy sector pocketed the loot and didn’t invest in their grid because they’re not in the electricity business to provide a public good, they’re there to make money.
So Texas is hardcore screwed right now. Like big time. Yes, they need federal help but first they have to bring the electricity back under the state government before they can even begin getting their system up to enough of a standard to join the other states.
Big problems out in Texas right now. This is what they are living with, and don’t forget to wash your clothes in the River and hang dry them over your fence.

Initial Steps Being Taken To Protect Electric Grid From Electromagnetic Pulse Events
Over the past two years there have been several positive developments to protect the electric grid from electromagnetic pulse (EMP) events – manmade or natural phenomenon that could incapacitate large sections of the power grid. A March 26, 2019 Presidential Executive Order places higher priority on and outlines steps for better coordination among government agencies so that an EMP attack is less likely to occur and better able to be met. Pilot programs in San Antonio and South Carolina, along with ongoing government research, should be widely disseminated and emulated so that large swaths of the electric grid are protected from EMP within the next 10 years.\...

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) continues to embarrass himself on social media, this time by posting a video of himself reciting the pledge of allegiance to … absolutely no one. Cruz wrote, “This didn’t use to be controversial. #flagday,” as if there is some sort of attack on the pledge of allegiance. There isn’t, and no one cares.
What people ACTUALLY care about is the power grid crisis that continues to plague Texas. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas released a statement asking Texans to conserve power, which includes a request to set their thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, turn off lights and pool pumps, and avoid using large appliances such as ovens, washing machines, and dryers. This comes after a devastating winter storm season which left millions without electricity and heat for days, resulting in an estimated 700 deaths.
Of course, at that time, Ted Cruz was busy flying to Cancun for a vacation while his constituents froze to death.
You would think that in the aftermath of such a devastating disaster, Texas politicians would rush to shore up their power grid to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. But they’re not: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced that he would be crowdfunding for a border wall instead of addressing his state’s energy crisis.
Ironically, Cruz tore into California for struggling with their own energy crisis during wildfire season:
And while California urged its citizens to conserve power for a few hours, Texas has yet to put an end date to their request that Texans not use appliances or air conditioning through a Texas summer. It's going to be a long hot summer for the people of Texas. Fans must be hard to find in Texas or companies like Amazon is making a killing in selling fans to people in Texas that do not have air conditioning.
