People Who Moved To Texas From California Finally Feeling At Home Now That Power Is Out

Yeah -- let's remember the advice the GOP mayors of cities in Texas are providing. What did they do with all the local tax revenue they collected -- you know all that money earmarked to provide emergency services. Based on the idiocy coming out of their mouths it appears they spent it on hallucinogens.

Texas Blackouts Make California’s Outages Seem Like a Hiccup

To get a sense of the magnitude of the power crisis hitting Texas, take a look at how it compares to the blackouts that roiled California last summer during a searing heat wave.

The California grid was short about 1 to 2 gigawatts for two evenings, while Texas has been short about 15 to 25 gigawatts for two straight days, according to Andy DeVries, a power analyst at CreditSights. And while California’s rolling blackouts left customers in the dark for a couple of hours at a time, customers in Texas have been without power for more than a day.

“It’s not even off the charts, it’s a different ball game,” DeVries said. “This is like a fundamental historic failure here. It’s mind boggling.”

Earlier Tuesday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott called on the state legislature to investigate the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the state’s grid operator, after millions of people in Texas were left without power.

Well this is Texas....

At least it is not an EV. Can you imagine how many people would die from taking the power from them to charge up those truck batteries? Think of the children!

P.S. Speaking of EV...How's the charging Teslas thing going on in Texas? Anyone? Anyone?

How about $450 for 1 day, or an $8,000 electric bill for residential home service for Feb. I guess a company, Griddy, sells power for a flat $10 rate plus wholesale cost. Rates jumped 9,000% or whatever. Any power traders here? How can we get in on that!

Yep.... all the residents of Texas are getting screwed.

Griddy doesn't have too many customers, so this won't affect everyone in Texas yet.

Griddy, told all 29,000 of its customers that they should switch to another provider as spot electricity prices soared to as high as $9,000 a megawatt-hour.
