People Who Moved To Texas From California Finally Feeling At Home Now That Power Is Out

Wow...

Is this true...only one power company manages most of the one power in the state of Texas ???
  • Company name ERCOT.
In fact, the governor is blaming Ercot for the problems but in reality if his state only has one power company managing almost all the power...that's too many eggs in one basket.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) manages the flow of electric power to more than 26 million Texas customers -- representing about 90 percent of the state’s electric load. As the independent system operator for the region, ERCOT schedules power on an electric grid that connects more than 46,500 miles of transmission lines and 680+ generation units. It also performs financial settlement for the competitive wholesale bulk-power market and administers retail switching for 8 million premises in competitive choice areas. ERCOT is a membership-based 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporation, governed by a board of directors and subject to oversight by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and the Texas Legislature. Its members include consumers, cooperatives, generators, power marketers, retail electric providers, investor-owned electric utilities, transmission and distribution providers and municipally owned electric utilities.

Y'all thought I was joking the other day when I said that the lefties will blame the cold weather on global warming.

No. I only deal in the truth here on the forum.

You are welcome.

from MSNBC, the epicenter of leftyville.

A winter storm caused Texas's power outage. Climate change likely caused the storm.

As the planet's climate changes, the only constant is unpredictability.

"Rick Perry shows Colorado City mayor how it's done. Claims Texans would rather freeze to death than have their electricity regulated by the Federal Government."

Perry says Texans willing to suffer blackouts to keep feds out of power market

Texas seems like its a state trying to self-hang itself.

I bet this will be a big issues when Republicans run for their seats again in the mid-terms in Texas especially now that people are dying due to "no power" or due to accidents caused by the lack of power.

Fossil fuels are bad enough. But in order to save the spotted owl, you cannot have wind farms either. Oh, and NIMBY. John Kerry himself voted against wind farms so it would not ruin his ocean vista view on Martha's Vineyard, even though the "ocean vista view" is nothing but a flat horizon of boring.

You cannot have underwater wave generators because it will kill fish.

You cannot have nuclear power because it will kill the children.

You cannot have solar because it will kill birds (which also applies to wind).

And if you have it, it cannot be in my backyard.

So says all of them, who apply makeup to their face which derives from...wait for it...fossil fuels.
