People Begin Living Without Electricity and Water in California

Quote from hippie:

People squatting in their foreclosed homes without water or electricity.

Those are just missunderstood hippies really....

Quote from Roark:

There are plenty of people out there willing to trade their freedom for a dole. That is one of the reasons why entitlements are such a huge problem.

It's the MAJOR reason Odumbo got elected!

You guys realize per KWH prices in Europe are for my country €0,25... if 1:1 parity then thats $0,25... wow you guys have super cheap electricity if $0,08 is true.

Also I've read tons of articles saying gas is up to three times cheaper in the US. You guys got it so good...

My power went out 2 or 3 times today in Northern CA. First time that has happened in a while.

My electric isnt that high. $57 only. In the summer it runs no higher than $110 and I run the aircon 24/7. But maybe some of the less energy efficient houses run more, but they must be over 2500 sq ft and all electric to come close to $300 per month.

How many SQ FT do you have, Im thinking around 750....

But, we can't walk anywhere. Land use and design, we have to drive from one store to the next. No kidding. We have no sidewalks. No one can live near a business. Multi use property is zoned out.

If your kids live within walking distance of a school, law says they have to take a bus.

If you have errands, you'll never get to more than two places without driving.

"I guess the trip is how to live in sustainable homeless way w/o it becoming misery."
I thought you were supposed to be making lots of money trading? :p

Americans like to believe they are "entitled to live moderately richly, even if it's at someone else's expense"....not merely "live comfortably" on the dole.

Dont listen to the people who say they are paying 0.08 KWH, if that is the case I would like to see their bills, the bill I just looked at moments ago is averaging .0.23 KWH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 0.08 KWH, please show me where that is and I think I will be moving to that state.

Quote from Eight:

In Southern California you don't really need a house that much, considering the weather and all. Get a commercial post office box for an address and a cell phone and you are good to go... I've known so many people that lived in their cars.. one guy had a big car and he could sleep in the trunk, some live in campers... I met a woman last year, she was supposedly hiding from some crazy boyfriend or some bulls%^t story like that, she stopped drinking liquid about noon so she could lock herself in her car all night, she parked it at campgrounds in some very picturesque places.. she asserted that she had a magnificent view and it all didn't cost much and she was one wild and free woman.. pretty crazy but wild and free... I hang out at a coffee shop that allows people to live in their cars on the parking lot, they don't advertise it but they are fine with it.. and they open at 6am, you can wake up and have your coffee and some krappy hot sandwich if you are really hungry... the people that work there might be homeless for all I know, they seem to have a little campground in the back of the place... freedom is way, way better than whatever is in second place, guarantee you that...

I can not believe someone with your mentality (probably homeless or close to it) has the time and patience to write in a traders' forum where people care mostly about expensive cars, hot girls, expensive hotels and little bit of trading.

You are a really interesting person.
