Agreed. But every school of economic thought says that type innovation drives a huge leap forward in living standards.
Yes, the IRS employs people. But its better for the economy as a whole, not to pay income tax. Its the same with Oil. We don't want jobs for the sake of having jobs. We want jobs that produce an increase in living standards. New technologies just displace jobs from one obsolete industry, to the new one.
Say they come out with anti-gravity. The transport industry (car, truck, rail, air, ship) all re-tool into a hover-transport industry.
The computer revolutionized business admin and drove high-tech innovation. It produced a huge net gain in jobs. Same with rail. Sure it put the type-writer, secretarial, carbon-paper, and horse and buggy industries out of business. But the wealth it created in return was far greater!
The argument against free energy is really just a rehash of the arguments against computers, or the internet, or the automobile etc. The scare-stories they tell guys who actually work-on and develop this stuff is just a cover.
At the end of the day, its about Control. Control over Americans. Control over the World.
Energy (and education) is the lynch pin to the global economy. Make it free and plentiful, and the World takes off like a rocket. The Controllers, Bureaucrats and Corporate Fiefdoms that parasitically feed off taxes (overt and hidden), don't want that.
Free-energy/anti-gravity turn the pyramid of social control on its head. Right now, its top down. FE = Bottom up. Power to the People....
Yes, FE/Anti-gravity could be a powerful weapon. Appears, that's the only downside...
