Mr. Buy1 has made a correct statement.
Math is false
When you get a moment, can you post the results with California removed?61% of eligible voters voted in 2016

Neither candidates got more than 50% of the votes from ACTUAL VOTERS.
Last time I checked that is not a majority.
When you count the whole pool of eligible voters (about 222 million) each candidate got about 30% of all eligible voters who could vote.
So not one of these candidates got any majority of Americans support. 30% is not a majority or Americans.
So let's stop saying that already.
When you get a moment, can you post the results with California removed?
I agree. It would be nice though to see the results without California to show why we use The Electoral College instead of popular vote. First of all, the Electoral College result without CA would have been 304 to 172. --And the popular vote?? ------Does not change the point that was made....our elections no longer are based on majorities. At best 30% of voters pick a candidate.
Trump won Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, traditionally Democratic states in Presidential elections and those 3 states swung the election in Trump's favor. The fact that HRC running against Trump lost 3 traditional democratic states shows you everything you need to know why she lost.

Results without California---------now you should understand why we have an electoral college.
Clinton 57,091,006
Trump 58,495,806
No more stupid than PhonySnark stating that HC won by millions more votes than Trump. As you can see----Trump won the popular vote over the totality of 49 states. This is why there is an Electoral College-----to prevent one or a couple of states from pushing their will on the rest of the country. If you support the use of the EC then you have to include CA in the vote tally. You cannot take away the 55 votes from HRC yet still argue to keep the EC? How stupid is that.
