I am honestly struggling to see the so-called crime here. If he had asked Ukraine to look into something or work with a US investigation of someone who was not a pol, then it would have been ok? Is the thing that makes this impeachable supposed to be because Biden is a candidate? Because that sure wasn't the case when Trump was a candidate and the Obama administration was spying on his campaign. No, then we were assured it was "national security". It was never explained why, if they felt Trump was the target of Russia, they didn't at least warn him or go over it with him.

The phrase "digging up dirt", now almost required for any media description, refers to fully known facts, eg Hunter Biden's suspicious "job", Joe's intervention and later bragging about it, and an investigation that was stopped in its tracks. I get it that official Washington, in both parties, is not at all interested in outing all their sons, daughters and spouses who just happened to land super great jobs with lobbyists or foreign front firms. Whatever, but Biden crossed a clear line by intervening in a matter that directly affected his son. That's about as clear a conflict as you can get.
