Pelosi Impeachment Inquiry

Again, just point to where it says that in the constitution or congressional rules one time for all of us and this convo will be over.
Face it, the current proceedings are extra-legal and amount to nothing. Once the House votes to hold impeachment hearings Republicans can defend the President. If liberals intend to hold impeachment hearings with Republicans muzzled something bad is going to happen, some type of revolt is my guess.

The reason, primarily, is that after the House votes to initiate hearings the Republicans are then allowed to call witnesses, question witnesses, introduce material into the record etc. Its only fair and it has been the precedent in 4 previous impeachment proceedings.

Fish or cut bait Nancy.

Yes - most definitely- in regard to the calling witnesses thing.

The other thing is that Team Trump knows that the dems are trying to do a hit and run where you go in and smear Trump, then have it over by the end of October and then go back to campaigning on the issues.

So if Trump can come up with some issues- and he has already- that need to go before the court he can drag that out with a couple weeks here and couple there. Which- not insignificantly- takes the dems into a time frame where they are at risk of having the horowitz materially dumped right in the middle of their little impeachment charade.

No to the extra legal statement and what they amount to.

I’d like to remind you all that any member of the House can bring articles of impeachment to the floor for a vote. I actually think it was Bobby Rush that it last coincidentally.

And that’s how they are going to run this, through the various committees as inquiries and brought to the floor by Pelosi. All 100% legal. I would not call it good form, though.

Well the Trump Administration is saying this morning that unless there is a full House vote to initiate impeachment hearings they will not regard any subpoena, inquiry or requests for information to be valid and they will not comply with them. No member of the administration will appear before any committee.

Democrats need to vote for it to put it in record. I am sure the voting public will remember who they are come November 8, 2020 when it is time to cast their vote. So far, the Democrats have engaged in trial by publicity which is call President Donald Trump all the vile names without even providing any proof to their charges. You cannot just slander someone without providing proof. Maybe, they will subpoena Joe Biden as he has that very incriminating video of him admitting to what he actually did! No more denying it now!

Still waiting for Horowitz and Durham to release their personnel reviews, I see.

Democrats now own Biden corruption. His family has been selling Biden’s offices for 5 decades. From sleezy little crooks to doing business with Ukrainian organized crime, Whitey Bulger’s nephew, Chinese government, a Madoff type and lots more. All covered up by Corrupt Media

I'd say the gloves are off now. Trump's defense is to compare himself to Biden and let the public decide. I think Pelosi miscalculated how sleazy Biden's conduct would look or that they would have to defend it.

The White House is planning to send Speaker Nancy Pelosi a letter as soon as Friday arguing that President Trump and his team can ignore lawmakers' demands until she holds a full House vote formally approving an impeachment inquiry, 2 sources familiar with the letter tell Axios.

It sounds like Trump is going to force Pelosi's hand on a vote prior to complying with the inquiry.

Will congress lock up Pence in the basement like the gimp?

Live updates: House committees ask Pence to turn over Ukraine information for impeachment probe

The House committees leading the impeachment inquiry requested Friday a long list of documents and communications from Vice President Pence related to Ukraine.

Earlier, President Trump said that Democrats “unfortunately have the votes” to impeach him in the House, but he predicted he would “win” in a trial in the Republican-led Senate.

“The Republicans are very unified,” Trump said, as he again insisted he had said nothing inappropriate during the July call in which he pressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Trump’s comments to reporters at the White House came as fallout continued Friday from the late-night release of text messages by House investigators, while another key figure, the inspector general of the intelligence community, testified on Capitol Hill behind closed doors.

It's the beginning of the end for Pence now, Palooka?
