Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an ‘economic development credit in American Samoa.’

if Mr Pelosi doesn't individually own the shares (i.e. via a private holding company, etc) it will probably be a challenge to verify his interest in Del Monte.

though Nancy's pal John Kerry and his wife had about $500mill in Heinz (which has a 75% stake in Del Monte) ... not that that would have to play into the whole Samoan thing.

WTF happened to this country!! My life experience of work hard and realize the American dream is sorely in the minority, apparently. I've spent the majority of my adult life isolated from big cities, living in the remote-er areas of the western US where folks take care of themselves. In your opinions, has this dependency on gov't accelerated significantly in the last 10 years, or is it more a generational (last 30 years) event?

But you finally had a national candidate who was conservative, went to a State school, had a track record, and the MSM villified her to the point of making her a buffoon. She tries to get a trooper fired who drank in his squad car, and tasered a ten year old. That seemed reasonable to me. But............

Alec Baldwin said it best on Saturday Nite Live........."..........but Loren! This woman is totally against everything we stand for!"
