Regarding Pelosi and "typically following protocol"... pffff..... she could bring absolutely nothing to the table, and why take the risk? They were discussing this days in advance, if there was even the slightest chance of word getting out, no way she could be told. It would be a huge unnecessary risk and it would jeopardize the success of the entire mission and worse yet, it could cost American lives. Tell Pelosi lol.... that would be the dumbest tactical move in the history of modern warfare. Protocol "on both sides" was pretty much rendered obsolete starting in November of 2016.

Trump not notifying the appropriate members of Congress is problematic in that if something goes wrong and he needed to take drastic action congress could act swiftly with an AUMF.

This idea that Pelosi and Schumer and Republican leadership in Congress would violate that level of security is absurd.

We need the executive and legislative branches at least on the same page when comes to this high level stuff. Killing al Baghdadi is not a left right issue.
