PDT rules have destroyed me.

Oops, if this is in reference to my previous post, I would like to clarify that I wasn't encouraging that kind of behavior.

Quote from MondoTrader:

An undercapitalized trader is either a bad trader or a lucky trader, but never a good trader. Part of what it means to be a good trader is to control your position sizing and your risk exposure, and somebody leveraging 25k to 100k and putting it all into one stock to make 50 cents is absolutely, positively, NOT a good trader. You will find that out now or later, but everybody learns or goes broke.

As long as this "silly little rule" is allowed to slide without objection, there will be more and bigger rules put in place before you know it. Many people who are unaffected by the PDT rule at this time will find themselves hampered by new and larger restrictions. They will raise the threshold from $25,000; they will put PDT restrictions on futures.
I agree, the rule should be objected to if you feel it unfairly hampers you. What I've been suggesting, however, is that ET is not the proper forum for your complaints because no one here created the rules and no one here has the authority to change them. You might as well go out into the woods and scream your head off -- it may make you feel better but it won't get anything done. As to what will happen if new rules are put in place restricting traders with under $100K or $500K in their accounts, or applying PDT rules to futures account? Like you, those traders will either adapt or fade away.

Dear Moderator Magna, I don't consider we are complaining here. We discuss PDT rules and its unfairness. We hope to get nice people to support us. Also, I don't like your idea of this "
adapt or fade away". We try to adapt but we keep on resisting and trying to get this fixed. That's all we are doing. Please ignore my PDT related posts as it is not necessary for so many people to reply and teach whoever crying a lesson. I think they'd better either adapt or fade away. Thank you.

:p

qdz,

Ultimately that's what it comes down to in any walk of life. And while I'd like to take credit for that clever phrase I can't because I stole (er.... ah.... borrowed) it from metooxx on pg. 8 :) Anyway, I won't comment on this again, and I wish you well in your trading.

Thank you very much. Actually, comment has been always welcome. I will do my best to develop a PDT tolerant system to trade for a living.

:p

Adapting is a matter, fighting the unfairness and waking up the publics is another.

:p

You are not going to make nickle fighting that without adapting.

Adapt, make money and fight for what you believe in as a hobby ...

Quote from OVERtheLINE:

there are several ways around the pdt rule for up and coming traders without 25k, guys like gdz dont apply because they spend their time crying like little bitches on message boards.

Very well said. That's my hobby. BTW, are you a XXXX?

:p

LOL. You are still going.

How in the world do you plan to ever develop such a system if you spend nine tenths of your waking hours bitching and whining about the unfairness of it all on these boards?

Don't you think the members of ET have gotten the message loud and clear about your thoughts on PDT? Don't you? When is it all going to end? If I were you, I'd be thinking about now would be a real good time to just shut up about it, because there may come a time when I could use some real help from someone and given my current behaviour there might not be many to willing to give it <-- 'Boy who cried wolf' effect.
