PDT Rule

When applying the PDT rule of having to have $25,000 to daytrade more than 3 times over a 5 day period,do stock positions count or just cash towards meeting the $25k requirement.For example,if one has $24,000 in stock positions,but only $1000 cash in an account,would one be able to do unlimited daytrades with that $1000?

dunno for sure - but one thing for certain - don't let the first daytrade with the 1000 lose money, otherwise the question will definitely be answered. That is providing that the 24,000 position remains at even.
