PCI-Ex16 video cards to support 4 screens?

Running an older Dell T3400 Precision workstation with two Nvidia NVS 295 video cards (each dual output = 4 screen output total). Upgraded to Windows 7 x64 bit awhile ago. The NVS 295 cards are not compatible with Windows 7 x64. Tried all sorts of Nvidia drivers. They all crash regularly. Searched the internet - it's a common problem with Windows 7 x64 and NVS 295 cards.

Need to buy two new (dual output) cards now. Any suggestions? Rather not buy another Nvidia product. Really upset these assholes wouldn't fix a simple bug.
 
That's hard to believe. NVS cards are the standard. I would want to get the word from Scat or Winston on that.

Have you ever used those device driver cleaner/removers? Maybe there's a mixup between different nvidia driver versions on your pc.

Doubtful. I had ZERO issues with the exact same computer/graphics cards while running XP. Once I reformatted to Windows 7 x64, the monitors began to freeze. It's a known issue but Nvidia won't fix it.
 
I've used Nvidia Quadro NVS 440 since 2008; no issues and I'm running 6 monitors on Windows 7 64 bit. They're pretty old but they work well enough for a trading setup.

I once had a difficult issue running multiple monitors on W7 w/295s. I had previously run the same monitor setup on T3400s on XP. No issues. I sold those computers with W7-64 and NVS 300 cards. Again, no issues. (Maybe NVS 295 wasn't their best product (??). I currently run W7-32bit with an NVS 310 and a 295.

There aren't a lot of choices... basically, Nvidia, AMD, and Matrox (Nvidia NVS has something like 87% of that market). Even the off-brand cards run either an Nvidia or AMD graphics engine.

AMD has the FirePro line... a 2260 dual head and 2460 quad port.... plus the older Fire MV line.

Best prices are on Nvidias. Personally, I'd give NVS 310/315 a try if there aren't known issues. On eBay for ~$30 each. Likely you could run only 1 NVS 310 in the "primary" position + a 295.

Are all of your monitors the same model? If not, try switching a different one into the "primary" position.
