Paying 1.8k Comission for 1k Option Trade on Interactive Brokers

Hello,

i don't trade options but just for fun i traded 1k options for AAPL and IBKR charged me 1.8k comission. Is this normal?

Might I guess you have around close to 30 mill $ account, rotating 4 billion$ in volume/year and paying around 300k to 400k in commisions to the firm ? A valuable customer

Trading cheap options at IB is hazardous to your health..

For one,you shoukdnt be paying more than .50,and at TOS if you buy shorts in at .05 or less,its free...

I left IB as I trade a ton of 4 and 5 legged beasts

Sounds about right...I would recommend visiting r/wallstreetbets. They have advice for you and point you into the right direction
