not really , they just have to learn how to hide their negative trades.
Somewhere on ET there is a sample how one site did it with spread option's trades , where they showed positive trades only , but "rolled" bad trades to another month

Option Smart are the people who lie on their website about 100% winning trades, when all along they have rollovers that they don't count as losing trades. Stay away from them.

chill dude.

i never said that it takes 3-6 months to become an "experienced" trader.

3-6 mths to figure out your style and type of instrument to trade along with a clear trading plan.

since end of june, ive realised that scalping the ES is best for my personality and health. i also have a trading plan for teh ES.

im still a newbie but it's better to be new and have a trading plan than being new and having NO IDEA or worse, paying someone, hoping it'll pay off.

btw, i did happen to meet a gentleman who is respected on ET. he's been trading for 7 yrs and he told me it took him 6 months to become consistently profitable.

just bcos someone asks you to catch up for coffee doesnt mean youhave to hand over your secrets.

i also know 2 other traders who have been consistently profitable within 6 months of trading. both of them have been traders for at least 4 years.

i cant speak for myself as im still new at this. Reality is subjective.

i shoudl have said 3-6 months spending 15hr days learning about trading and watching the markets. - which is what i did.

3-6 months FULL TIME is enough for anynewbie to realise wether they want to pursue a career in trading (not investing) or move on.

"best bet is to set aside 3-6 months and learn on your own or catch up with experienced traders inyour area who are willing to help."

try 3-6 years. Why do people think the business of trading and investing don't require a serious education. You are only providing false hopes for new traders with those type of statements. And any traders that have figured out the game just ain't going to share what took them 3-6yrs to figure out with just anyone looking for a humble handout. 3-6 months you can learn how to flip burgers and manage a McDonald's. Please let's try to post reality not pipe dreams.

nice to hear insider info like that.

what are you smoking, bigtrends is the best! :D

obviously that's sarcastic.

i used to work for them as an analyst when i was naive to the industry. it didn't last long. when i was allowed to trade my way, then i was stellar with futures and FX. when Price decided that the customers needed more "action" then my style was compromised and obviously i started getting whacked.

my favorite reply from him:

"that approach might be good for a money management firm, but our customers need ACTION"

regarding me stopping trades after hitting a 6 pt profit target on the ES each day... which Chris (brownsfan) can verify as he was a sub to my ES service.

salesmen, not traders. marketers, not traders.

Michael B., check your PM's.

So any reviews by any of you guys trying the different services? esp interested in possible options services since every time i've tried options on my own i'ts been a train wreck....

I can't stand Cramer. Every time I watch him (which hasn't been for months now) I have to pop some extra medication.
I was replying to the OP. I don't rate Cramer on his ability to produce headaches, just profits.

And before this turns into the usual Cramer bashing, you can't follow any financial advice blindly. Not Cramer, not IBD (witness SYX at #1 on the IBD 100 last week), not any pundit, until you do your own DD. But for the OP, Cramer is free (except for the aspirin) and I would venture as good, if not better, than any paid for stock picking service.

Good example about IBD and SYX this week.

Btw, I have heard MANY great things about Vector Vest.
