What a great article. I have been concerned about these asset forfeiture laws for a long time. They make anyone with a flashy car or expensive property a juicy target for unethical cops and prosecutors.

These are the kinds of scams the federal Justice Department should be attacking. Instead, they file politically motivated suits over voter ID laws and states' efforts to control illegla immigration.
