Paulson hits back at ‘superfund’ critics

everyone is missing the hidden meaning of the fund....

I believe it is there to purchase asset backed paper from money market funds if there is a big run on one.....

if a fund breaks the buck, it could lead to a catastrophe if everyone tries to cash out at once and the funds can find no bids....

a band aid for sure, but what other choice is there?
 
if we're truly at risk of a catastrophic run, shouldn't the markets reflect that risk for the benefit of every investor and trader who isn't too big to fail?

or do we collectively subsidize the institutions that are too big to fail in effect sustaining and systemically embedding that mispricing of risk? there's no end to that, it's a malignant cash cow
