This from a guy who has never worked in the institutional world, only registered here this month but already has 160+ posts, consistently makes idiotic statements with no basis in fact, and apparently adores flaming others with the word 'assclown.'

You add zero value to any discussion. I only have about a dozen folks here on ignore; congrats, you just joined that crowd. Assclown.
 
I downloaded the .avi from zero hedge, but it is only playing the audio. It shows no video in Windows Media Player. Is there a separate codec I need to download to play this file?

Not what I was saying.
They do spend enormous amounts of time and money on their data.

They probably do a lot of data mining.

Then when they find curious correllations they use their stats background to determine if they should trade it.

Then the have figure out how to automate the whole deal with creating too much market impact.

Heck of lot easier to co locate really fast computers next to the market place. Get a "look" from Nasdaq and front run.

Then call it high frequency trading and act like your had to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.
