Paul Tudor Jones Mortgages Palm Beach Home For $53 million

That's a bizarre analogy, and isn't even remotely relevant.

If you don't see my point, then it sounds like there's not much more to discuss.

I'm sick of being lectured about fairness from people that have just stepped off of a private jet.

I would simply like to see someone actually show commitment to their cause.

Man, please stop! may i suggest motherjones.com? The pygmies dont think its fair that u have airconditioning but talk about.......

I think you are jealous and really don't get the point. Sad but true---

Not jealous.

I'm 100% in favor of capitalism. I'm involved in the ownership of a business with a significant amount of employees (hundreds) and real estate that is affected by skyrocketing utility costs, partly from Obama's mandated EPA standards.

I know that when guys like this start yapping, it's ME (and you) they are targeting, not themselves.

Ok, then you better be worried about the third worlders and pygmies calling you a hypocrite.

I believe people can say whatever they want, you dont have to listen. Just dont call folks with more assets than you-- hypocritical.

Ps let me further explain. Al gore flies his jet to bangladesh. Holds a seminar among corporate leaders. He convinces several to sign the kyota protocol and stops millions of tons of carbon. Was it worth his while to fly there and beneficial 1000x to his cause despite what u see as hypocritical? These folks u call hypocritical are massive influencers for right or wrong. The influence far out weighs and makes sense to use available tools to propagate. Its far from hypocritical. Open your mind and dont be jealous of the influential class.

I think Jones is 100% in favor of capitalism too. I see no evidence he is "targeting" anyone. If anything I think he is mostly critiquing multinational corporations that answer to wall street, not local or regional businesses. The fact that one is pro-capitalism does not mean one should somehow be prevented from calling out gross inequities, injustices, and abuses occurring within the system.

Ok fair enough, but to be clear, I don't believe having a high net worth makes one hypocritical.

I think it's hypocritical when someone talks contrary to how they live. It's like the sleazy former criminal who professes to have found god, or the so-called "anti-government" Republicans who spend all their time trying to say who can or can't get married.

We are all hypocritical, so I'm not saying he's some great villain or something. I'm just saying he's one of the last people I'm going to listen to about fairness until I see some evidence that he can practice what he preaches.

Exactly. why not pledging billions like a few billionaires indeed do if they are so concerned about unfairness in society and disproportionate opportunity distributions. Giving a few millions while living a grand capitalist and extravagant life style somehow does not connect with their recent postUlations. It's like Mother Theresa driving around the Kalkatta slums in a Ferrari and throwing rice out the window and proclaiming she has a heart for the poor.

Let's see him walk the walk and then he can lecture about "changing the game".

Give it all away. I'm talking EVERYTHING. Not to his kids, not when he dies. Now. He's played the game, he's won the game, he thinks the game isn't fair.

Put his money where his mouth is and live a more "average" lifestyle first and then he would gain a lot of respect, IMO. Liquidate everything and give it away.

This is nothing new. Limousine Liberals are a dime a dozen. They want to change the system, but only AFTER they've amassed (or inherited) their fortunes.

He's no different than Al Gore living in massive mansions and flying on private jets everywhere, but advocating for climate change.

I have no doubt that he and Al are well meaning guys, that actually believe what they're championing, but please lead by example, rather than "do as I say, not as I do".

He has given very little ...almost an insignificant amount relative to his wealth. His latest mansion extravaganza is probably worth more than his entire giving in total to his foundation. Stay real man

Really? While you're at it, why not insist he stick a fork into his eye? Because it seems you want anyone who disagrees with you and thinks there should be more fairness and justice in this world to martyr themselves. He's given more back than you ever will, both in absolute terms and proportionately. As for wanting to change the system after he amassed his fortune, he is in a better position to exert some influence now that he has name recognition and a record of accomplishment. If he had tried to do so in his youth, you would have said PTJ who?

But, as noted earlier, he began putting his money where his mouth is early in his career. He deserves nothing but respect.

you are just a dumb mouthpiece. Did Mother Theresa or Ghandi or numerous others make a name for themselves before they started their work. PTJ has probably given a thousand fold more in monetary terms than those two above yet he is a shit in comparison. Why do Americans measure everything in life in terms of coin? Outright shortsighted.

So now you want him to live his life on your terms otherwise he's worthless shit? Since you brought this discourse down to anatomical parts, try to guess which one I see you as. :)

Al Gore has it all wrong? Lol you republican marionettes are the biggest joke in tow. EL Nino is on every front page and every commodity desk at hedge funds and investment banks is over thinking their models and how to deal with potentially devastating supply disruptions. The ice caps are literally melting away. Have you witness the environmental pollution China is creating and for that matter fracking in front of your home? Are you truly too stupid to see that ignorance to environmental over think leads to a complete disaster in a few decades? Germany will soon be generating more than half it's national energy needs from green energy while your retarded American Whirlpool fridges and consume almost more than some entire households in Japan or Germany. Goodness.

Man is this ridiculous. Another person who just doesn't get it. Your examples are twisted. Let me explain. Leading by example and all that nonsense is for people who dont have any power anyway.

I dont care for al gore but he is a very smart guy and believes in something. ( i think he is very wrong, but thats not the point) Its not hypocritical at all that he flies private and spends money. I dont get your reasoning. His mission is to get the word out about his cause. Using these tools is how he does it most effectively. Would yoy suggest he walk to his events so no carbon is produced? I could go on and on ..... PTJ is the exact same underlying idea.

Go back to listening to Rush and Alex Jonez. Most of us are a bit too advanced here to fall for the shtick.
